Text | As to there being no Union clubs in the East, Secretary White said that all he knew about the matter was derived from newspaper statements that there was to be no club here or there. It could be stated as a fact, however, that the Nationals, of Washington, would withdraw from the Union Association if they could get into the American. Boston was not very sanguine of maintaining a Union nine, and the indications pointed very strongly to the Union confining its operations to the West. |
