Text | [an interview of John Rogers, on his way to the NL meeting] “I know that Pittsburg will go into our Association,” said Mr. Rogers, "if they get their terms, and all the League Managers want them if a satisfactory arrangement can be made. ... " Pittsburgh Commercial Gazette November 15, 1886 Acting-President Scandrett left for Chicago Monday night to attend the League meeting, which commences there to-day. It is now about settled that the Alleghenys will join the League ranks at once. The resignation of Mr. Nimick, it is understood, was owing to his pledging his word of honor that the Alleghenys would not join the League while he was President.
