Text | [Irvington vs. Eckford 7/16/1867] The Eckfords have fallen into the practice of changing their men round when they commit errors, and in this game nearly every innings witnessed the shifting of the men from one position to another. The uselessness of this system was apparent all along. In rare instances it works well enough, but in most cases it is productive of more harm than good. |
