Text | The Athletic Club has been closed out by the Sheriff, its fences and pavilions bringing $52, and their ground lease $5. Peace be to its debts—for it left more debts than ashes. It was once an honorable association, governed by gentlemen. When it came to be a swindling scheme which kept no faith, it deserved to die. |
