Text | [from answers to correspondents] 1. Suppose the bases are full, and the batter hits a ball to short stop, which is fielded to third base in time to put out the base-runner going from second base, which is the third hand out; and the runner going from third touched the home-plate at the same time the ball is held on third base. Does the score count? 2. Does it count if touched before the ball is held on third base? … If the player is put out at the same time, the run does not count; but if the home-base is touched before the player is put out, then the run counts. |
