Caylor] There is a pretty generally acknowledged agreement abroad among baseball patrons, and ball players too, that the young man is the greatest pitching living, or dead either, for all that. Yesterday when the game ended by Davis striking out for the third time and Pitcher Rusie started across the field toward the club house the crowd jumped down from the stands and followed him. Whenever the spectators follow a player or a team from the diamond to the club house it may safely be said that the player or the team has been installed a favorite in the public heart.
