Text | [Athletic vs. Baltimore 9/26/1872] The umpiring was certainly most exceptionable, but even that fails to excuse the groaning and yelling indulged in by a crowd of roughs, who manage to get within the enclosure whenever an important game is played. A summary ejectment or two by the police would be very effectual in stopping what is growing to be a positive disgrace. |
