Text | [Atlantic vs. Chicago 7/22/1874] In the ninth inning Captain Ferguson of the Atlantics was also disabled. He was standing midway between the home plate and third base, in expectation of a fair-foul hit from Force, who was striking; but instead he found he was in the way of a terrific hot liner, which he stopped from going in the outfield by having a finger-joint knocked out of place. |
