Text | [Athletic vs. Forest City of Cleveland 7/22/1871] In the second inning, as Pratt had been so badly punished in the first, Pabor went in to pitch, which had an instantaneous effect on the batting of the Philadelphians. His slow, left-handed balls, with their peculiar twist, were such a contrast to Pratt's lightning ones, that it completely nonplused the strikers. |
