Text | [Boston vs. Chicago 7/2/1889] Kelly cut third fully six feet yesterday in the third innings on Brouthers' drive to right, but Lynch did not see it and would not allow it when Dwyer ran to the plate, took the ball from Farrell, and tossed it to Burns. This is an old trick of Kell's. Many is the time he has worked it successfully for Chicago. |
