Text | [Cleveland vs. Chicago 7/6/1883] Anson tried to cut the ball and Williamson was caught seeking to tear it with his teeth. Their object was to get a new one, which McCormick cannot pitch as well as an old one. … Anson's effort to cut the ball, and Williamson's endeavor to tear it with his teeth, are willful and silly falsehoods.
