Text | H. W. Berthrong, one of the crack players of the old Nationals of Washington, D.C., now resides in Boston, Mass., where he has met with marked success as an artist. Berthrong, prior to his retirement from the baseball field, had the reputation of being the fastest base-runner in the country. He has recently placed on exhibition in Washington, two of his portraits, Abraham Lincoln and General Grant. The one of Lincoln has been warmly praised by the art critics of Boston, and General Grant also highly commends the one taken of him. |
