Text | [reporting on the AA meeting] One of the most important changes in the playing rule, and one that puts a damper on the song-and-dance pitchers, whose effectiveness mostly depends on their hitting abilities, was adopted. It is a clause giving a batsman a base when he is squarely hit with a pitched ball. The umpire in a measure will decide on the merit of the case. |
