Text | [Union of Lansingburgh vs. Mutual 6/18/1869] ...small signal flags fluttered in the breeze from the poles at different parts of the grounds. Above the Pagoda floated a white flag with the word “Haymakers,” in red letters emblazoned on it. From the staff at the lower right hand corner of the grounds the Mutual banner waved, while above it from the same mast the champion whip snapped and twirled. |
