Text | [Forest City of Rockford vs. Olympic of Washington 8/26/1871] ...the score standing six to one at the end of the fourth in favor of Rockford. Up to that time Fisher had outwitted the batters by several make believe motions to pitch which could not be constructed into baulks, and every man went out without reaching first; as soon, however, as a man reached first he had to drop his motions, and then by some errors and six hard hits for bases eight runs were scored. |
