Text | The Chicagos twice defeated the Buffalos in exhibition games at Chicago, Ill., on Oct 1 and 2, by the respective scores of 12 to 10 and 7 to 4. The feature of the first game was an experiment with the flat bat. It did not increase the batting, and was pronounced a failure. A ball with a centre of cork wound with a strip of rubber, was also tried, but it did not seem to favorably impress the players in any respect. |
