Text | The umpire should be forced to fine players who played dirty tricks, such as crowding around home-plate to distract a fielder's aim. In one game this season a man was running home from third while a player inside the diamond that the ball. Four of the runner's friends gathered around the plate and, by shouting and motions, distracted the throw. The umpire paid no attention to the infraction of the rule. |
