Text | Arthur Cummings is reported to have said that he wouldn’t play in a Philadelphia nine this season if they would give him the whole town. A good reason why he could not play here is that fact that no club, even the weakest amateur organization of this city, would hire this over-rated “boy pitcher” at any price. One season sickened the Philadelphians with him.
