Text | [reporting the AA special meeting of 3/14/1890] The rule to the effect that when no ball is in play a third must be added, was construed to read that no member of any club has the right to discolor the ball in any way. This latter provision is to do away with the practice of players who rub a ball in the dirt before it goes to the pitcher. |
