Text | “I wish you would say, through The Item,” said Mr. Denny, “that I have decided to remain in Indianapolis, and no offer the Brotherhood could make me would induce me to alter my purpose, all reports to the contrary notwithstanding. I like Indianapolis and the management of the local club. Mr. Brush is one of the squarest men on earth, and he has been a good friend to me. In this matter, however, I am simply looking out for myself. If I remain with the Indianapolis Club I am sure of a fair salary, and I do not intend to throw it away and follow some visionary scheme with no substantial backing. Not a bit of it. And I will be found in the local team next season just the same. |
