Text | The burning of the stand at the Brooklyn base ball grounds on Sunday morning last was a sad blow to the club; still it was not nearly so bad as it might have been. The fact that the club was on the road and that no games or loss or attendance was caused by the fire is a source of satisfaction to the managers of the club. The directors have in mind the building of an iron grand stand, but that will not be done for some years yet. In the mean time the new stand now building on the grounds will be finished as soon as possible, probably by Thursday, and this will answer all requirements for the time being. |
