For the past few months there has been an undercurrent of feeling, it is said, in the Cincinnati Base Ball Club, and it is hinted pretty strongly that the owners of the club will, at no very distant date, make a change in the management. A gentleman well up in the matter told a reporter for the Post-Dispatch that not only the managers themselves but also the players have no love for O. P. Caylor, the present active manager of the club, and that as soon as the proper arrangements can be effected “Miss Management” will be requested to step down and out. ... It is stated that there is not a player in the nine who cares to have dealings with him, and this feeling was unreservedly given expression by some of the more independent players on the occasion of their last visit to St. Louis.
