Text | It was a regular old Polo ground attendance at the game between the New York [NL] and the Rochesters, and they hurrahed for the inscriptions which were printed in large black letters immediately at the entrance to the grounds, “We are the Giants,” and We are the People.” Their enthusiasm was turned to dismay on leaving the grounds, for the large black letters had entirely disappeared, being wiped out with yellow paint. |
