Text | [St. Louis vs. Brooklyn 7/24/1886] Mr. Henry Chadwick, than whom there is no more strict and arbitrary [sic: meant to be complimentary] interpreter of the rules at present identified with base ball. Was the official scorer of that game. On inquiry, Mr. Byrne tells me that Messrs. Mandigo,of the Sun; Stackhouse, of the Tribune, Journal and Associated Press, and Kennedy, of the Times, were present and agreed with Mr. Chadwick's scoring... |
