Text | ...a word about collisions between fielders and fly-balls which drop in between through fear thereof. Fielders need never run into each other if they will follow the practice of giving way to the man who is most likely to catch the ball. The player running at full speed, with a chance of getting under the ball, should sing out as he runs, “Let me have it!” and, whether he can get the ball or not, he should invariably have the right of way. If this rule is observed there will be no bones broken by fielders running into each other. |
