Text | Any ball not within the legitimate reach of the bat is now required to be called after due warning has once been given the pitcher. When the pitcher sends in a high ball, the umpire, instead of calling out to him to “get them down” or to “pitch lower”, should promptly call balls. In regard to strikes, more latitude is allowed, now strike being permitted to be called unless the striker is previously warned, and the, even, it must be apparent that he is willfully refusing to strike. |
