Text | [Atlantic vs. Athletic 10/22/1866] Kleinfelder led off at the bat, and seemed inclined to stay at the home base. The umpire called “one strike,” “one ball,” “two strikes,” “two balls,” and then Kleinfelder knocked a grounder to Charley Smith, which was promptly passed to first base, putting him out amid great cheering by the New-Yorkers. |
