[from Brunell's column] The plan discussed would have been to retire all playing directors, to make the contract prices and reduced prize fund definite and certain, and replace the reserve rule by a long term contract of less verbiage than that at present in use. And at the same time a little more equity, with no more risk, could have been shot into the contract. It doesn't cost any more cash and serves one' convenience a good deal to have spasms of flexibility at times.
