Text | The St. Louis Browns are playing as tricky ball as ever and have added this new wrinkle:--Whenever an opposing base-runner is on third, as soon as the ball is hit the entire infield, except the man to whom the ball is batted, will start for home, ostensibly to back up the catcher, but really to block the runner, as each one after the other will cross the base path in front of the runner and thus retard his progress. They do not injure him, but simply block him adroitly. |
