Text | The past season has been decidedly the most brilliant and exciting known in the annals of the game. More money has been received by the professional organizations in the aggregate than ever known before, and the attendance for the season at the principal matches has been largely in excess of previous years; for though we have not had quite so large crowds at matches, taking into consideration the increased expense and the greater number of games played, the attendance of spectators has been double that of any previous year. |
