Text	[from the annual report of the Athletic Club] As you are aware, owing to the dullness of the times and the consequent scarcity of money, as well as from other causes, the attendance at games was much smaller this year than the year previous. Yet, although our expenses were increased by thousands of dollars, we congratulate the club on its financial condition, notwithstanding the trip to Europe, which promised so much, was a financial failure.
