Text | ...the general public will witness the games of both clubs [the Philadelphia and the Athletic] and will be able to gain some idea of the merits of the material of which they are composed. In regard to the Philadelphia Club, the public should be very lenient in its judgment at first, as the club will be called upon at the very outset to meet the very best professional clubs in the country, which, to say the least, will be a decided ordeal. |
