Text | [Cincinnati vs. Star of Brooklyn 6/18/1870] Jewell followed with a high ball, which Harry Wright could have easily taken had he seen the ball in time, but the sun shining on the white ball dazzled his sight... (We are surprised that the red color of the cricket ball is not adopted by our base ball makers, that being the proper color for a ball.) |
