Text | [Toledo vs. Cleveland 4/30/1883] The Clevelands could not bat McLaughlin with any satisfaction, as they kept popping flys into the hands of their opponents. This was mainly due to the fact that McLaughlin has not yet got up to the science of curving as indulged in by the League pitchers, and the home team were not used to it, besides he was the first left-handed pitcher they have met this season. |
