Text	[Atlantics vs. Haymakers at Saratoga 8/9/1869] This [game] to-day was a money speculation, but as such it was a failure, as the interest of the day was in the racing. The attendance was not near as large as expected, and so a charge of $1 did not pay as the Clubs expected. The roughs and blackguards of Troy and vicintiy, drunken and noisy, were on the ground in great numbers and behaved shamefully. They pressed in on the players and became boisterous as the game progressed and went against the Haymakers.
