Text | The whip-pennant is a flag of the national colors, emblematic of the League championship. It costs $100, and is inscribed with the motto: “Champion Base Ball Club of the United States,” with the name of the club and the year in which the title was won. The champion club is entitled to fly the pennant until the close of the ensuing season. |
