Text | [reporting on the NL meeting] The reserve rule was discussed, especially on the point of whether the eleven men reservation was in reality harsher than the five men reserve rule. President Mills brought out a strong point in favor of the eleven men rule. He held that after the five men had been held under the old rule it brought the remaining players not reserved on the market for bidders while tying up the superior player and would be likely to give the inferior player more salary than the stronger reserved player. |
