Text	The proceedings of a little secret session of what is called the “Association Combine” leaked out yesterday morning, and if the “combine” sticks to its resolutions there is apt to be some fun before the American Association completes its labors of the annual meeting. It was mentioned yesterday that a conference had been held in Philadelphia in which five clubs were represented. Instead of Philadelphia the conference was held in Mr. Von der Ahe’s rooms at the Grand Centra Hotel, this city. Besides the President of the St. Louis Club there were present a representative of the Louisville, Columbus and Athletic clubs. It was intended to map out the procedure for the “combine” at the Association meeting to-day, and to fix matters up generally. The absence of Kansas City from the conclave was rather a surprise, but then no difficulty was expected from that direction, and all arrangements were made to carry out their designs, which are principally to prevent Brooklyn and Cincinnati from receiving any favors in the Association.
