Text | The Philadelphia club cannot play more than thirty games with League clubs during the season. On an average it cannot draw over 2,500 to a game. This will make a total of 75,000, at 25 cents each, $18,750. of this sum the League club will take one-half, leaving the home club $9,375, out of which to play salaries, field rent, umpires, advertising, etc. this would leave the club behind in finances which it would have to make up with the Metropolitan club, the only other Alliance club. Can it be done? We think not. These figures apply alike to the Metropolitans, and the best thing these clubs do is to shake the League at once and save themselves. |
