Text | A meeting of those interested in the formation of a Western Base Ball League was held at the St. James Hotel, Kansas City, Oct 20. There were represented in person or by letter Kansas City, Leavenworth, Hannibal, St. Joseph, Atchison, Topeka and Lawrence, and the delegates were very enthusiastic and sanguine of the success of the new organization. ... It was decided to name the organization “The Western Base Ball League.” It will work as an alliance of the Union Association, adopting the playing rules of that association and arranging its schedule so as not to conflict with the Union dates in Kansas City. |
