| Text | Our base ballists will laugh at the following paragraph, which we clip from an exchange: "On the return of the Red Stockings base ball club to Omaha, from the Pacific coast, they interested the Omaha club with a little game, wherein the Omahas were whitewashed eight times in succession, and on the ninth inning were allowed to make one. Now that the 'Reds' have gone East, they give Omaha the credit of having the worst base ball club in the United States. It takes three of them to pick up a ball, and then they quarrel seventeen minutes to see who shall throw it to the pitcher, when the pitcher finally goes after it himself, and gets his nose punched." |
