Data | The game of “base” (almost certainly baseball) was among the pastimes enjoyed by the City Norwich Lodge of the Independent Order of Good Templars on outing to celebrate its second anniversary. After boating down a river in a steam boat, the group landed in Whitlingham and, according to a newspaper report, “enjoyed themselves at cricket, trap-ball, base and other amusements.” |
