| Data | “Base ball” was one of the amusements enjoyed at the annual festival of the Marlowes Wesleyan Sabbaths School of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. According to a newspaper report, the teachers and scholars met at the school and then marched in procession to a nearby park, “where various games of cricket, bat and trap, base ball, swings, etc. were very heartily engaged in.” |
