| Text | This constitution is reprinted in Dean A. Sullivan, Compiler and Editor, Early Innings: A Documentary History of Baseball, 1825 - 1908 [University of Nebraska Press, 1995], pp. 5-8. The rules do not shed light on the nature of the game played. Membership was restricted to those above the age of twenty-one. One day per month was set for practice ["Club" day". Note: Sullivan dates the constitution at 1837, but notes that it was printed in 1838.
