Description	The [Shanghai] North China Herald, June 28, 1873: "A base ball match took place between the officers of the U.S. ships now in port, on the grounds of the Shanghai Cricket Club, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon." Same, July 5, 1873, gives more details. Same, Nov. 28, 1879, reports on a game between the US Navy club (presumably, ships at that station) and the Shanghai Base Ball Club, "on Saturday on the base ball ground within the race course." The Navy won, 30-3.
