Text | The field has been raised fourteen inches along the pavilion and back of the bat, casting the surface water toward second base. Then the field has been so graded as to throw the field water off from second base and the line, from which it is carried off in an iron pipe to Lehigh avenue. Several large, roomy, underground drains carry the water from the field about the catcher's stand to a point near the home players' bench, from which point an iron pip carries it out to the street. |
