Text	Mr. Lucas' long deferred explanation of his connection with the Boston Union Club, and its financial affairs have been given to the public, and it ought to be satisfactory to those who have confidence in his integrity. He says, and has the documents to prove, that he paid $4,500 into the treasury of the Boston Unions, in return for which, he says: “I received absolutely nothing you could call collateral, except twenty-five shares of stock, which are now not worth the paper they are written on.
