Text | The Cincinnati Enquirer is making war on the five-men rule, and in doing it is trying to rouse up the players to form a committee of the whole in opposition. This is a hard task, Brother Caylor. AS things look now, if the majority of the clubs favor such an arbitrary and unfair rule the players will have to abide by it, unless an Easter League should be formed, which is now very likely. Failing that, the players will have to submit, as no one could unite them ito band together against such wealthy organizations as the Chicago Club and the clubs that can apparently be whipped into submission. |
