Text | In a Mutual-Athletic game some seasons ago, in Brooklyn, “Cherokee” Fisher played a sharp point that Eggler attempted to imitate last season in Buffalo. Three of the Mutuals were on the bases, with but one out, when a high-ball was hit to Fisher at right field; he pretended to drop it, but caught it before it touched the ground, and, fielding the ball to third base, put out the man who had started home on the supposition that the ball was missed. |
