Text | [from a letter by Jimmy Williams] The object of the rule [of the IA] is to allow clubs of this association, which desire it, to play with league clubs on an equality, and the rule allows them to do so when the league rescinds its previous legislation on this question. The friends of this measure stated that all they wanted was that the league should have an opportunity to so rescind, and if they did not see fit to do so, then our clubs would not desire and would not play them. The wording of the rule is not as good as it should be, but the meaning of it was thoroughly understood by all present at the convention to be as above stated. |
